- Overview
Working in charities and voluntary organisations can be very rewarding but relationships can be just as challenging as in any organisation. The very passion and commitment that people bring to the third sector coupled with the dynamics between employees, trustees and other volunteers can heighten the potential for conflict. Partnership working, bringing together differing values, cultures and aims can also be a source of dispute.
The SCVO HR & Employment Support Service in partnership with Scottish Mediation are providing this online workshop to explore how best to manage and resolve conflict with a view to avoiding stressful, time-consuming and potentially destructive disputes. The workshop provides techniques that are used in mediation and gives an insight into how mediation works and when it might be helpful.
- Overall aim
At the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- understand some of the causes of conflict and how it escalates;
- use a number of tools used in mediation to resolve conflict;
- understand the benefits of mediation and how to access it.
- Who was the event aimed at?
Anyone working in the Third Sector
