Overall aim

The event is for anyone who wants to understand how you take an idea, test it and take it to scale.

It’s also for anyone who is interested in the story behind Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and would like to find out more about bringing the programme to children in their community.

Description

Take some time out of your day, surround yourself with Dolly Parton’s infectious energy and hear the inspiring story of her Imagination Library.

Dolly’s vision to inspire a lifelong love of books and reading came to life as a small, community programme for just 1000 children in Tennessee. Over 25 years it has transformed into Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a global phenomenon gifting books to over two million children every single month!

Join us for an interactive interview and Q&A session with The Dollywood Foundation team who will explain the magic behind their model and their work with communities across five countries.

You’ll also hear a local perspective from Renfrewshire Council, shining a spotlight on their innovative approach to supporting their community through the Imagination Library.

Scotland might be a small nation, but its citizens have always been trailblazers, just like Dolly. Could Scotland host the first ever nationwide Imagination Library? We certainly think so!

We can’t wait to see you for a fun session where you’ll leave energised by Dolly’s story and ready to take on the world!
