Event summary and materials

What was covered in your sessions?

In the session, we looked at what human rights and equalities are, what at THRE we mean by taking a human rights and equalities first approach and some ways organisations can do this.

We heard from two inspiring speakers about their organisation’s work doing this - Zaffir Hakim from Engage Renfewshire and Lori Hughes from PKAVS.

There was then an interactive session with the audience thinking about human rights and equalities and discussing what they do well, what they would like to improve at their organisation and what help or support they would like from THRE

Was there any useful feedback or reflection from the participants?

There was a strong feeling that support for organisations around human rights and equalities was wanted and needed in the sector. Lots of suggestions were provided on the feedback cards for the types of support and course they would like THRE to provide which we are feeding into our development process.
