The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work with charities to empower the communities they work with to participate in democracy - encouraging people to register to vote and navigate misinformation. This includes providing a range of resources which charities can use to support their service-users.

In the run-up to the Scottish council elections in May 2027, we'll be running a campaign to encourage everyone in Scotland to have their say. Visit us at The Gathering to find out about our impartial resources, which you can use to support communities you work with. We can also tell you how you can get involved in Welcome to Your Vote Week, our youth engagement campaign, which will take place 8-15 March.

## About SCVO

SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) is the national membership organisation for Scotland's voluntary sector.

Our role is to champion the role of voluntary organisations in Scotland and to support them to do work that has a positive impact.

SCVO supports members and the wider voluntary sector with all aspects of setting up and running a voluntary organisation. SCVO represents the needs and concerns of the voluntary sector to the Scottish government in Holyrood and UK government and Westminster.
