KWISA - Women of African Heritage

KWISA - Women of African Heritage is a women for the empowerment, support and advocacy for the rights of women of African heritage and their families. The board members and volunteers are globally respected campaigners who stand against all issues that cause any form of discrimination against women and girls, including poverty, violence, FGM and other harmful cultural practices; racial and ethnic conflict. KWISA is run by part time staff and a team of volunteers who campaign for systematic and institutional through engaging policy and decision makers. We also campaign against social and cultural practices including violence against women and girls, gender based violence, honour based violence, forced marriages and as well as promoting positive cultural practices.
KWISA proactively engages African communities and works collaboratively within networks in public and voluntary sectors for improvement of services and address the barriers African women and girls face.
