Action in Mind, as a mental health service provider, is guided by local and national policy and legislation, operating within a devolved government context to ensure that services meet all required standards of care and support for people affected by mental ill-health. This broadly includes The Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015, The Self-directed Support (Scotland) Act 2013, The Public Bodies (Joint Working) Act 2014 and The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.Our work is guided by national mental health priorities and outcomes are set out in the Scottish Government’s Mental Health Strategy 2017-2027 – a 10 year vision and locally by NHS Forth Valley’s Healthcare Strategy, Shaping the Future (2016-2021), The Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Strategic Plan (2016-2019), Local Outcomes Improvement Plans for Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils (2019-2022), The Stirling Community Planning Partnership’s Children’s Services Plan (2018-2020) and the Forth Valley Carers’ Strategy.Our Home Support service is registered and regulated by the Care Inspectorate. Following the last unannounced inspection on 2 February 2017 the Home Support service achieved Quality of Care and Support, Grade 6 – Excellent and for Quality of Staff, Grade 5 – Very Good. Support workers fulfil registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council.Counsellors are accredited by and members of COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland) or BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The Befriending Services (Adults and Children and Young People) hold the Quality in Befriending Excellence Award (good practice).
