The Furniture Recycling Project Angus (FRPA) established in 2004, is a registered charity (Registered Scottish Charity No SC 034885) and social enterprise. We are based in Arbroath but offer services throughout Angus.FRPA collect unwanted furniture and domestic electrical appliances, diverting them from landfill, to be refurbished before passing them on to new users. Items are supplied to local authority and housing association tenants through a voucher scheme, or sold to the general public at affordable prices.Our aim is to reuse and recycle unwanted furniture and domestic electrical appliances destined for landfill to help the environment and provide access to affordable home goods. To achieve this our activities include:• Protecting the environment by diverting goods from landfill• Collecting unwanted, good quality furniture free from Angus• Tests electrical appliances• Helping to reduce homelessness by passing furniture and appliances on to people who have been given tenancies, but have no furniture• Offering jobs to the young unemployed who come to us under Government schemes, thus training them for paid employment thereafter• Offering Volunteers similar job training and work experience• Providing work experience for young people via our local Job Centre, Angus Council etcThe object of FRPA is to relieve poverty, need and distress of the inhabitants of Angus by:• Promoting the re-use of furniture, household goods, domestic electrical appliances and other equipment• Providing services, training, support and development to individuals and communities to enable them to overcome disadvantageActing as a link between those with surplus resources and those in need of resources.
