Samaritans of Edinburgh and the Lothians aim to be available 24/7 every single day and night of the year to offer emotional support to those who need it. Our mission is that fewer people die by suicide.
We are all volunteers and are available by phone, e-mail, SMS and face-to-face (no appointment necessary) - although the latter only 9am - 10pm, 7 days a week. It is free to call Samaritans, all calls are completely confidential and callers can remain anonymous.
We are non-judgemental and do not give advice, we listen and support. Our outreach programme includes talks to schools and other organisations. We work with Choose Life and Network Rail.
