Millport Town Hall Charity is based on the Isle of Cumbrae. A major regeneration project is underway to turn the closed historical building into a vibrant and central community facility for all ages. To advance citizenship and community development and facilitate rural regeneration of an economically deprived area - social inclusion will become possible for those on the fringes of our society and those such as the youth who have no existing facilities. The community will be empowered to develop socially and economically through ownership and control of the building. This regeneration will increase the profile of our island and will boost the current population levels across all demographics. To provide recreational activities which improve the conditions of life for users - Our residents and especially our vulnerable community members will have optimised positive mental well-being, financial security and resilience. There will be increased access to sports facilities leading to improved physical and mental well-being. Our vulnerable community members will have support for improving quality of life, increasing sense of self-worth and confidence. Membership of our charity is free tool those on the electoral role and there is associate membership for those under the age of sixteen or not on the role. This is a community led initiative and the site is to be run by the community and for the community.
