Wigtownshire Stuff is a charity dedicated to promoting real opportunities for younger adults with support needs in the west of Dumfries and Galloway. These support needs will include, but not be limited to, younger adults with Learning Disabilities, Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, Autistic individuals including people with Asperger’s, individuals with ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Individuals with visual impairments, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, individuals with Acquired Brain Injury, people with Mental Health Issues and Individuals Leaving Care, Wigtownshire Stuff’s purpose is:A) to develop a range of opportunities with and for the younger adults in areas such as employment, both paid and voluntary, training and learning, leisure and social activities. B) to promote real opportunities for young adults with support needs across Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, that will seek to advance citizenship and community development. C) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. D) to promote equality and diversity in the region. E) the advancement of human rights in line with the Scottish Government's commitment to human rights for all its citizens.Crucial to this is the way the charity operates, in that everything is done alongside the young adults and by them and not done to them.
