Clan Macquarrie Community Centre ("CMCC" or "the Centre") is a registered Scottish charity (SC028732) that operates a well-managed and well-used intergenerational community facility in the north west of the Isle of Lewis. It caters for all ages and abilities and is situated in the Airidhantuim Community Council area. The Centre was constructed during 2008 and opened in April 2009.We have 3 separate meeting spaces, a commercial kitchen and a large main hall that can seat up to 250 people in rows and circa 150 people around tables. A demountable stage and a lighting gantry add to the main hall provision. Our facilities are reasonably placed in terms of energy efficiency - benefiting from LED lighting, insulation upgrades etc and also fro 2 x 6Kw wind turbines and a ground-source heatpump.Activities at CMCC are centred around local groups and clubs who themselves are constituted. We also provide meeting spaces for committees etc. Charity soup lunches are popular uses of our kitchen and main hall.We have run circa 30 wedding celebrations since we opened and run ceilidhs, dances and suppers in our own right - these are all good sources of fundraising for us.
