The aim of Blue Light minds is to reduce the high number of emergency service staff suffering from poor mental health particularly, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As well as normalising help seeking after attending a traumatic or potentially traumatic case/call. The charity aims to provide completely free and confidential psychological / mental health support to ALL emergency service staff. The types of support that will be provided range from: o Trauma risk management (TRiM) assessments o Trauma focused Cogni:ve Behavioural Therapy (CBT) o Eye Movement Desensi:sa:on and Reprocessing (EMDR) o Flash Therapy This service will be provided to any individual working on the front line of emergency response in the UK, ranging from the Ambulance service to Coast Guard, voluntary first responders, Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Prison staff or university students on the front line. A specific focus of the charity is to provide continuous free and easily accessible mental health support to all Paramedic Science University students. There will be a particular focus on students under the age of 30 as this age group is par:cularly vulnerable to psychological damage.
