The aim of Blue Light minds is to reduce the high number of emergency service staff sufferingfrom poor mental health particularly, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As well asnormalising help seeking after attending a traumatic or potentially traumatic case/call.The charity aims to provide completely free and confidential psychological / mental healthsupport to ALL emergency service staff. The types of support that will be provided range from:o Trauma risk management (TRiM) assessmentso Trauma focused Cogni:ve Behavioural Therapy (CBT)o Eye Movement Desensi:sa:on and Reprocessing (EMDR)o Flash TherapyThis service will be provided to any individual working on the front line of emergencyresponse in the UK, ranging from the Ambulance service to Coast Guard, voluntary firstresponders, Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Prison staff or university students on the frontline.A specific focus of the charity is to provide continuous free and easily accessible mentalhealth support to all Paramedic Science University students. There will be a particular focuson students under the age of 30 as this age group is par:cularly vulnerable to psychologicaldamage.
