Clutha Archaeology Group
- Membership number 8998
Clutha Archaeology Group (CAG) was formed as a direct result of volunteers becoming involved with and trained in Archaeology through the National Lottery - Heritage Fund supported Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership (CAVLP) which ran between 2011-18. After meeting informally for a number of years these volunteers and a few others decided to set up CAG and this took place on 1st July 2020. CAG’s purpose is to promote and encourage interest in the study of archaeology, history & heritage with special reference to Greater Glasgow & the Clyde Valley area. Building upon the legacy of CAVLP the Group has to date concentrated its efforts upon the South Lanarkshire area. CAG membership, all voluntary, is at present 38 with a third of the Committee of 9 and more than a third of all members living within that area.
