Easterhouse Phoenix Development is a charity which operates the Phoenix Community Centre in Easterhouse which is a deprived community with low income households, low levels of employment, poor health, crime and housing. The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation shows the area to be at deciles 1 and 2. Because of this our purpose is to break down the barriers of poverty and inequality by focusing on the deprived, excluded, marginalised and hardest to reach residents within Easterhouse by helping and supporting them to become more active and engaged members of our community.

Our objective is to provide a centre with resources, services and activities that enhance the quality of people’s lives, increasing economic activity, reducing poverty and other forms of deprivation, improving residents’ health, reducing levels of crime and anti-social behaviour thereby addressing and changing the overall capacity of the community and its population. We aim to empower the people who come through our doors by providing them with the skills and resilience they need to meet not only their needs but also the needs of the community.

Our aim is to create a culture of healthy bodies and healthy minds. These are interlinked and play a major role in our holistic approach to improving the lives of our service users. Our objective is to provide a centre that is the focus of the community and plays a major role in the regeneration of the wider community by guiding, supporting and nurturing people, engendering a true sense of community.
