Dundee Deuces was founded on 29 June 2024, as part of the Pride celebrations in Dundee. An inclusive space, the club has introduced 33 people to tennis for the first time and supports a further 12 people reengage with tennis after many years away from the sport, after feeling excluded, often as children. Our membership includes both LGBTQIA+ people and allies. We deliver this in partnership with the University of Dundee, Sports and Active Health, who support us by providing free tennis courts. The Dundee Deuces are the first tennis club for LGBTQIA+ people and their allies in Dundee and Tayside. We are registered with the Lawn Tennis Association and adhere to their governance framework. We are a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation. We have an established a partnership with Leisure and Culture Dundee to diversify our offering, particularly over winter as outdoor tennis play becomes more difficult due to weather. We are registered with Pickleball Scotland and offer weekly pickleball sessions. The Dundee Deuces are part of the Dundee West Sports Hub and registered club with Club Dundee. We are part of the Pride in Tennis network, the UK-wide network of LGBTQIA+ tennis clubs and registered with LEAP sports, which is the umbrella body for LGBTQIA+ sports in Scotland. Our culture is summed up as follows: We are a welcoming and inclusive club, valuing kindness to each other and supporting each other to have fun both playing tennis and in any social activities we take part in.
