About Us

Creative Arts Therapies Space (CATS) is a collective of HCPC-registered art, music, and drama therapists offering accessible and affordable psychotherapy within a creative, community-based environment.

Founded to bridge the gap between public and private therapy provision, CATS provides sliding-scale access to therapy, low-cost space for community groups, and creative wellbeing programmes designed to reduce isolation and promote belonging through the arts.

Aims and Objectives

  • Accessibility: Reduce financial and systemic barriers to therapy through a no-means-tested, trust-based sliding-scale and pay-what-you-can pathways.
  • Community Impact: Offer free or low-cost spaces for community-led art and wellbeing initiatives once sustainability thresholds are met.
  • Collaboration: Build partnerships with local organisations, schools, and charities to support mental health through creativity.
  • Professional Development: Provide affordable workspaces and peer supervision opportunities for early-career and established creative arts therapists.
  • Sustainability: Reinvest all surplus into CATS development and CATS Fund to subsidise therapy, community projects, and accessibility improvements.
