The Club raises funds and offers practical support to help those in need, e.g. the poor, the young and those with special needs. Some projects provide financial support for the advancement of education, e.g. providing funds for a school's outdoor education equipment. Other projects require practical help, e.g. assisting in litter picking in a local park or assisting at an outdoor event for children with special needs. When choosing projects to support, the club considers those located or based in or around the City of Edinburgh and others located or based in a country without developed support structures
