Paisley Tours is a non-profit social enterprise, registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee, dedicated to celebrating and promoting Paisley’s remarkable cultural and historical heritage. Our mission is to deliver high-quality walking tours, cultural experiences, and heritage events that strengthen community pride, attract visitors, and support the wider regeneration of Paisley town centre. We work in close partnership with key local heritage organisations, including Paisley Abbey, Sma’ Shot Cottages, Threadmill Museum, and the Renfrewshire Witch Hunt 1697 project. We are also supported by Paisley Heritage for digital marketing and community engagement. Together, we aim to tell Paisley’s extraordinary story and connect more people, both locally and internationally, with its cultural assets. Our base of operations is a newly refurbished premises at 2 County Place, Paisley — beside the town’s main transport hub, Gilmour Street Station. This venue, fitted out with the support of Renfrewshire Council's Social Enterprise Small Grant in early 2025, acts as our welcome centre, tour base and indoor event space. It is fully equipped to deliver both outdoor guided experiences and indoor storytelling events, ensuring accessibility in all weather conditions. Our launch offer includes a range of tours and activities: standard walking tours, partner heritage tours, kids’ treasure hunts, and corporate team challenges. Ticket pricing is affordable and inclusive, with discounted rates for children's activities and donation-linked tickets for partner tours that support local heritage sites. We are proud to operate as a social enterprise, blending trading activity with a strong social mission. We aim to create freelance and self-employment opportunities by training local people as freelance tour guides and supporting microenterprise development. All freelance roles are paid at least the Real Living Wage, and we are committed to Fair Work First principles.A 2024 community consultation survey, completed by over 350 local residents and businesses, confirmed strong support for Paisley Tours. 88% said they would attend local walking tours, and 74% expressed interest in buying local heritage-themed merchandise. Our digital marketing partner's Facebook page, with over 35,000 followers focused on Paisley’s culture, provides a strong platform for launch promotion.Paisley Tours has already attracted external interest and support. In April 2025, we hosted 11 international travel trade buyers through the VisitScotland Connect event, where Paisley’s tourism potential was praised. Glasgow Life has also encouraged our development, highlighting the importance of heritage-led tourism for the town’s future growth. Our vision is for Paisley to be recognised not just as a commuter town to Glasgow, but as a standalone cultural destination in its own right. Through accessible heritage experiences, enterprise growth, and community pride, Paisley Tours aims to contribute meaningfully to Renfrewshire’s regeneration agenda and Scotland’s wider cultural economy. We are committed to inclusivity, safeguarding, environmental responsibility, and building sustainable partnerships. Our goal is not just to deliver tours — but to build a stronger, prouder, and more resilient Paisley for generations to come.
