The organisation's purposes are to preserve the rich architectural and historical heritage of the burghs, villages and countryside of those parts of the East Neuk comprising the former burghs and parishes of Kilrenny & Cellardyke, Anstruther Easter, Anstruther Wester, Pittenweem, St Monans, Elie & Earlsferry, Kilconquhar, Carnbee, Newburn and Largo & Lundin Links and to safeguard and improve the amenities of the area, stimulate pride in local traditions and encourage sensitive and sustainable development. The charity also includes the advancement of citizenship or community development and the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science.
