- Overall aim
This session will explore how charities and voluntary organisations can use framing to campaign better. It will introduce what framing is and how it can be used to help influence how people think, feel and act in response to your communications and campaigning work.
- Description
The world is being turned upside down in Scotland and indeed globally - politically, economically and socially.
Charities and voluntary organisations in Scotland have access to Scottish Government and are trusted by the public but it's not enough. Many feel their campaigns aren’t breaking through. Too often decision-makers aren’t listening or acting. At the same time public mood is shifting in previously unexpected ways. It can be difficult to cut through the noise and really connect with people.
If there was ever a time to look at doing things differently to further your cause or in pursuit of the common good, this is it.
Framing is the choices we make about what ideas we share and how we share them. It’s what we emphasise, how we explain an issue, and what we leave unsaid. These choices affect how people think, feel and act.
Frames provide scaffolding for you to build your communications, helping you to tell the same powerful story but in different ways.
Come along to hear from our expert speaker introduce the concept of framing.
