- Description
This will be a fully interactive workshop that focusses on how to create a supportive internal culture, using strengths-based approaches to build and develop powerful, effective teams. We will explore:
- how to value and nurture lived experiences and passion, and how to channel this to deliver the needs of beneficiaries effectively
- how to enable people at all levels of the charity to contribute their best, and develop skills and knowledge that supports them as well as your organisation
- what can help or challenge your approach, and how to avoid potential pitfalls
We will discuss how this mix and the way we work influences our culture and the impact we have, sharing our learnings from across the charity sector, and giving participants time to share their experiences too.
Participants will then be supported to map the range of perspectives and understanding they need for success within their own organisations and projects, and recognise how they can find and grow these, within staff teams, volunteer support and partnerships.
Creating a positive and effective culture is essential for any organisation, and getting the balance right is not always as easy as we'd like it to be. This is an experiential workshop - there isn't a right or wrong answer, so this session provides the opportunity to explore the subject in a relaxed environment and through a guided process. We will discuss the value of having a diverse mix of passion, lived experience, skills and knowledge, and the pros and cons of each, so participants can understand how to ensure they have the right balance for their organisation / team.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to build a genuinely strengths-based culture and how to overcome potential challenges, which they can then take back to their organisations for further discussion.
