Inspiring individuals help transform our society every day, and voluntary organisations benefit from the time, skills and experience of volunteers in all aspects of our work.
This award recognises a volunteer, supporter or patron (unpaid) who has gone that extra mile and made a significant difference to your organisation, community or cause. We want to hear about a breadth of work carried out over the years, but in particular, we'd like to hear about what made the last year special.
Perhaps your volunteer has brought skills and experience that has helped the organisation to develop in a new area, or they have a long term and trusted mentor relationship with someone your organisation supports. If you want to celebrate their hard work and dedication, we’d love to hear about it.
Judging criteria
Our judges will be looking for the story of why your nominated person is so important for your organisation and wider community. What have they done that made you put them forward for the award, and why was the past year so special.
In your answers and supporting evidence you should try to include:
- An outline of your volunteer’s involvement with your organisation
- The story of what made this year special
- Facts and figures that highlight how their work has made a positive difference
- Real-life examples of the impact they have had on staff, other volunteers and the wider community, which may include case studies and/or testimonials.
