Jack's Wee Snowman with the Big Heart - Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

Why you should vote for Jack's Wee Snowman with the Big Heart - Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity for the People’s Choice Award

“Jack tells his friends at school that he’s waiting for a new heart. He says that it’s a very special one, so it takes a long time to make." - Fiona, Jack's mum. Jack is still waiting for a new heart. While he waits, he spends many weeks, sometimes months, in the children's hospital in Glasgow. Despite his serious heart condition, Jack can play and have fun in hospital, thanks to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. His family receive practical and emotional help, and the charity supports the NHS staff who care for Jack too. Thank you for the nomination.

Jack's Wee Snowman with the Big Heart was the charity's Christmas fundraising appeal in 2022. Six year old Jack, who has been waiting for a heart transplant for 2 years, was the hero of the campaign. Jack designed a Christmas bauble - his 'Wee Snowman with the Big Heart' - which the charity's volunteers hand-made for supporters to buy. The campaign raised £23,000 from more than 600 donors. The campaign also had an organic social media reach of 100,000+, raising awareness of the importance of organ donation. Jack was thrilled to hear he was a finalist.
