We were delighted and grateful to be nominated for this award. If successful, any publicity would be invaluable in directing people to the website, where they can find contact details and links to hundreds of useful organisations and helplines, a calendar of events to find out what's happening locally, and important news. Organisations are featured free of charge, and are categorised and easily searchable, making it simple for members of our community (and beyond!) to get in touch with people and services offering help and advice. Our aim is to bring people the information they need, as easily as possible.

Saferouterhebrides.com is a directory of public protection organisations, calendar of local events and training, and news source for the people of the Outer Hebrides. It was created in response to the Scottish Government's 'Equally Safe' (the strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls) Quality Standard requiring clear signposting to VAWG support services. We expanded this to include other local and national services that could benefit the community. The website was created by the Western Isles Violence Against Women Partnership's coordinator, Marie Anne Macdonald, and web designer, Andrew Jeffries, and kindly funded by Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre.
