Supporting our campaign means backing an impactful initiative that empowered people with lived experience of mental health from a hard-to-reach ethnic minority community. The year-long project led to the first-ever campaign created by and for Polish men worldwide, addressing their high suicide rate in Scotland. By voting, you'll support our Community Ambassadors who committed their skills and time to address the most pressing and stigmatised issue within the Polish community. Thanks to their engagement, the project successfully made an impact on a very low budget, demonstrating its cost-effectiveness and innovative approach.
Did you know that Polish men in Scotland are twice as likely to commit suicide than Scots due to stigma & reluctance to seek help? The "Shed Your Armour, Show the Scars!" campaign tackled this issue by using armour as a symbol of emotional shields and encouraged men to seek support. Led in October 2022 by Community Ambassadors with lived experience, the 4-week campaign engaged 20,000 Polish people in Scotland and received positive feedback from the community and news outlets. It was the first-ever campaign worldwide addressing the problem of suicide among Polish men, making it a groundbreaking and impactful initiative.
