Why you should vote for Capability Scotland-Corseford College for the People’s Choice Award

Corseford College gives our current students, and those who will follow, the opportunity to continue their educational journey post school. In all cases their complex and additional support needs prevent them attending a further education programme in a mainstream setting, instead being offered places to attend an adult day centre or be supported at home. This group of individuals are capable of much more and have a valuable contribution to make to society. Enabling them to continue their education affords them the same opportunities as their peers, breaking down barriers for what can be achieved by young disabled people.

Capability Scotland believes in creating an inclusive Scotland where everyone has the opportunity to have their voice heard, contribute to society and fulfil their potential, and Corseford College is making this a reality for young people with complex and additional support needs. In September 2022 Capability Scotland opened Corseford College, the first of its kind in Scotland, a dedicated further education college for young people with complex and additional support needs. Offering the opportunity for this group of individuals to continue their educational journey after they leave school – a right every young person in Scotland should be entitled to.
