Why you should vote for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) for the People’s Choice Award

Situated in car parks, community campuses and bus stations, WoW really illustrates the true meaning of mobile mental health support. With over 1000 individuals engaging in mental health conversations and over 300 individuals receiving targeted 1-2-1 peer support over the past year, we know that WoW has been a success as it is supporting wellbeing, building social connections and empowering individuals to have open and honest conversations about mental health. We’ve worked together to remove barriers towards accessing support in a post-pandemic Scotland and are proud that we’ve been able to support and empower people in the community.

Wellbeing on Wheels (WoW), is a peer led, drop-in service that offers free mental health and wellbeing support. In partnership with Stagecoach East, the service is situated on a bespoke Stagecoach bus that visits the heart of different communities and provides a ‘hop on-hop off’ opportunity for people to come on board for 1-2-1 support. WoW meets the wellbeing needs of people facing barriers accessing support due to isolation and the rurality of living in smaller communities and brings mental health and wellbeing to the forefront of every community visited, helping to raise awareness of mental health and removing stigma.
