Dates-n-Mates

Dates-n-Mates support love and friendship for adults with a learning disability who often experience social isolation. We do this by facilitating a programme of social events and workshops, and friendship and dating opportunities.

We believe it is everyone's right to live life free of discrimination and to develop friendships and relationships of their choosing, to love and be loved.

In 2023 Dates-n-Mates became an independent charity following fifteen years as a project of C-Change. We have expanded our offering of exciting and meaningful opportunities for people with a learning disability to form friendships and relationships, with over 630 events across Scotland in the last year.

We have provided new opportunities for people with a learning disability to be on our charity board and have 8 colleagues with lived experience. Dates-n-Mates members have expressed that their confidence and wellbeing have improved, new friendships have been made and some are now dating for the very first time.
