Playlist for Life
Playlist for Life is a leading UK music and dementia charity based in Glasgow advocating for the power of personalised playlists to improve the lives of people affected by dementia. The organisation supports individuals and families living with dementia to create playlists, trains health and social care professionals to use meaningful music in dementia care, and supports over 2,500 community groups and organisations to share meaningful music in their local communities.
Our work has always focussed on the person beyond the dementia, and our 10th anniversary year showcased this. We marked the occasion with a string of events and successes that cemented the simple but profound power of meaningful music for people living with dementia. In just 12 months we supported 60,000 people from all backgrounds; hosted a UK wide two-day music and dementia conference; produced a sold-out concert with headlining well-known Scottish artists and spearheaded our awareness campaign, National Playlist Day, which reached two million people. Supporters say that using playlists – a simple but profound concept – has been ‘life-changing’.
