Scottish Environment LINK is a coalition of more than 50 environment charities working together for a sustainable Scotland. We advocate and campaign for thriving nature, a healthy society and a healthy planet.
Scotland’s nature is struggling, and we urgently need to help it recover.
Scottish Environment LINK launched the Scotland Loves Nature campaign to call for legally binding government targets to restore nature.
Thousands of people supported the campaign by writing to their MSPs, signing petitions, demonstrating outside parliament and sharing moving stories about what nature means to them. We organised publicity stunts, secured media coverage, and got MSPs on board.
The campaign achieved its goal in 2026 when the Scottish parliament voted to pass the Natural Environment Act, requiring government ministers to set legally binding nature recovery targets.
