Isle of Luing Community Trust
We are a volunteer led Trust, focussed on developing the economy of the Isle of Luing, celebrating our heritage and providing social and community activities. We own and operate the Atlanic Islands Centre, employing up to 4 people with a successful cafe, heritage exhibition and social/event space. We have very active volunteer support with active History, Baking, Crafting and Gardening groups and we work with the Community Council on resilience, which is critical for island communities. We are working to be a Carbon Neutral island with local food and recycLUING being is a key part of our work.
Isle of Luing Community Trust turned bold vision into reality this year, securing £2.1 million to reopen Cullipool Slate Quarry.
