Crail Community Partnership
Crail Community Partnership (CCP) carries out the actions to improve the town and environs of Crail, that were identified after extensive community consultation. The CCP acquires and manages land to create and improve natural habitats for wildlife and people, in response to the climate and biodiversity emergency. It acquires and manages buildings and public spaces to increase local sustainability. It carries out the small but important actions that improve quality of life and community for everyone, in a sustainable grass roots way.
The Crail Community Partnership arose after a two year long community consultation about our future. Maintaining and enhancing our natural environment and promoting sustainability in Crail came top of a big list of wants. Since then we have acquired 15 ha of land creating new meadows, woodlands and wetlands. We took over ownership of Crail’s community hall and have adopted energy saving technology and behaviour throughout the building, inspiring Crail to do the same. Last year we registered one of Scotland’s first Local Place Plans, with sustainability and action for climate change as core of our future vision for Crail.
