Dogs for Good & Inverclyde Royal Hospital – Community Dog Stroke Support Partnership
We bring people and dogs together to make life possible. Through carefully matched partnerships, workshops, and group sessions or individual visits, our dogs enable the people we work with and their families to live happier, healthier, more independent lives.
Dogs for Good & Inverclyde Royal Hospital – Community Dog Stroke Support is a partnership between Dogs for Good and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, transforming rehabilitation through the power of human–dog connection. Specially trained dogs support stroke recovery by motivating movement, building confidence, and enhancing emotional wellbeing. Participants take part in tailored, goal-focused activities that feel purposeful rather than clinical. The presence of a dog can encourage communication, reduce anxiety, and bring moments of joy during a challenging time. Together, this innovative collaboration is redefining rehabilitation—supporting people in a positive and meaningful way as they navigate their hospital recovery journey.
