McKenzie’s volunteering journey is a powerful example of resilience and community impact. During a difficult period in her life, she chose to give back, McKenzie has supported 21 organisations across environmental conservation, community wellbeing, food support, heritage wildlife protection. Her roles have ranged from gardening and preparing community meals to wildlife monitoring and coastal clean-ups. Known for enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to try new experiences, McKenzie has made a positive contribution wherever she volunteers. Despite personal challenges, she has grown in confidence and purpose, becoming a strong advocate for volunteering and an inspiring, deserving nominee for Volunteer of the Year.
