Overall aim:
- To share the latest on progress towards tackling the climate emergency in Scotland and globally
- Highlight the action that needs to be taken to ensure Scotland meets its legal climate targets
- How the public and the third sector can show support for the action we need to see
- Description
Recent reports by the Committee on Climate Change and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports make clear that current action, both in Scotland and globally, is insufficient to meet climate targets or prevent global temperatures breaching the crucial 1.5 degrees threshold.
The Scottish Government is publishing a new Climate Change Plan in November, and ahead of this the Stop Climate Chaos Scotland coalition has brought together its own list of positive policy proposals. Expert speakers will reflect on the current context, share what needs to happen to address the crisis, and how all people and organisations can add their voice and come together to show strong support for climate action.
