This panel session will explore the value of cross-sector partnerships, from three different third-sector perspectives – Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, Edinburgh’s Third Sector Interface and Waverley Care. The panel will discuss the benefits, barriers, and lessons learnt from working with diverse and wide-reaching cross-sector partners and populations.

This panel session will explore the value of cross-sector partnerships, from three different third-sector perspectives – Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, Edinburgh’s Third Sector Interface and Waverley Care. The panel will discuss the benefits, barriers, and lessons learnt from working with diverse and wide-reaching cross-sector partners and populations.

Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is currently partnering with academics, the NHS and the private sector on a range of projects that support the 1.1 million Scots with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full.

Edinburgh’s Third Sector Interface has played a key role in the city’s response to the Ukraine crisis - a flexible, solution-focused partnership approach across the statutory and voluntary sector that has helped support the 22,000 Ukrainians arriving in Scotland and the 3,500 of those who have set up home in Edinburgh.

Waverley Care is linking up NHS, local authorities, and third sector organisations in the cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth through the ‘Fast-Track Cities’ project. This innovative and inspiring project is working towards reaching zero new HIV infections and zero HIV stigma in Scotland.

Through these three examples, the session will provide advice on how to avoid common pitfalls, and achieve collective and collaborative aims.
