- Description
This event is co-facilitated by the Scottish Recovery Network and the Young Women’s Movement, two organisations who work closely with peers to ensure lived experience is at the heart of their work.
You will hear from staff members from SRN and YWM about specific projects and there will be a panel discussion from the presenting organisations and young women currently working with YWM on the EmBody to EmPower project.
Scottish Recovery Network have a range of peer support resources including the recently launched Let’s Develop Peer Roles toolkit as well as training and practice resources. They have also worked with a wide range of organisations and groups to support the development of volunteer and paid peer roles including recently with ICU Steps who support people who have experienced critical illness and treatment in ICU.
The Status of Young Women in Scotland has been the Young Women's Movement flagship research project since 2015. Their recent report highlighted young women's experiences of accessing healthcare in Scotland. As an outcome of this research, a collective of young women and non-binary people are co-designing resources for young people and healthcare professionals. These will build understanding around what good experiences of accessing healthcare are and support young people to feel confident to advocate for themselves.
