Overall aim

Whoever you are there is no doubt you are encountering victims and survivors of human trafficking; whether you are a front line worker, represent a minority group or faith community, a policy maker or a member of the general public. Join us at this unique event which will:

  • increase your understanding of human trafficking, bust the myths and how it is relevant to you and your work
  • introduce you to creative tools which can strengthen your practice and have tangible outcomes
  • provide a route to ongoing strategic and operational expertise and resources to support you
Description

Human trafficking is possibly the most misunderstood crime in Scotland. We know that the buying and selling of men, women and children subjects people to some of the most degrading, violent and fearful circumstances with profound and enduring effects

Happening in every Local Authority, it is hidden in plain sight and may not look like what you would expect. This results in the majority of victims going unnoticed despite them engaging regularly with services such as food banks, homeless hostels, advice centres, education or other statutory and NGO services.

Guided by national experts, this event will be your starting point or reminder to knowing more about human trafficking near you. Find out about the strategic and operational support as well as the empowering and creative initiatives and tools available to add capacity and value to your work, as well as sustainable solutions for your clients.

'Inspiring' 'knowledgeable' 'relevant' 'invaluable' 'necessary' 'passionate' some of the words used to describe our sessions.
