This event is for anyone interested in supporting people to use their lived experience to help shape policy and services in our health and social care system. The event will use a recovery conversation cafe approach to:
Explore the conditions required for people to use their lived experience to influence policy and practice in a way that is safe, empowering and effective
Model a participative approach which addresses power imbalances and is focused on what is important to people
Introduce a free to access, adaptable resource that people, services and organisations can use to involve people in decision-making

How do we provide opportunities for people to use their lived experience to bring about real change in our health and social care system in a way that is effective, hopeful and empowering? Our workshop will introduce an approach and resource to support people to run Recovery Conversation Cafes where people can use their lived experience to inform the agenda, identify what is important and shape future services and supports.
