Nicky emphasised the need for organisations and practitioners to improve the support they provide by listening to, and believing carers, recognising the trauma that many have experienced. Nicky identified the need for deeper understanding, and the provision of improved follow up services and practical financial support.

Was there any useful feedback or reflection from the participants?

Some of the attendees had previous knowledge of Family Fund and volunteered comments about how Family Fund had been ‘a lifesaver’ to them and/or families they work with.

Other attendees were learning about Family Fund or the first time and reflected on the potential for them to help us reach many more families in Scotland.
