What was covered in your sessions?
This session enabled participants to hear directly from Iain Stewart MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland, about the Levelling Up agenda, and more specifically about the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The UKSPF has three investment priorities (communities and place; supporting local business; and people and skills) and aims to provide £2.6 billion of new funding by local investment by March 2025 across the UK.
Was there any useful feedback or reflection from the participants?
The cost-of-living crisis was raised as another important issue for voluntary organisations and the communities they support during discussions. From volunteering to pensions, participants highlighted concerns in the face of rising costs and increasing demands for services locally.
How people can find out more or get involved in your work?
To find out more about the UKSPF, you can check SCVO’s latest blog here and the UKSPF prospectus for more information.
