Overall aim

This event is an overview of some key areas, namely:

  • Building blocks of financial management
  • Risky business
  • Rainy day reserves

with the aim of starting a conversation about how to get the best out of your charity's finances.

The session will introduce you to budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, risk and reserves, and is designed to break down barriers to understanding financial terminology, financial management tools and data.

Description

Trying to understand your charity's financial numbers is enough to keep you awake at night. Caron Bradshaw OBE, CEO of the Charity Finance Group, will unpack the jargon, the processes and the systems that can make the world of charity finance such a tricky one to navigate. Based on her recently published book, she will introduce you to:

  • Building blocks of financial management
  • Risky business
  • Rainy day reserves

This event will be of interest to CEOs, senior executives, trustees, and non-finance staff - in fact, pretty much anyone who needs to understand the numbers in their charity. Finance people might still find it helpful to consider a different perspective on the numbers too.
