Hear from Trustees, staff, volunteers and locals about how climate action can enrich the lives of locals rather than constrain them.
This event will be a walk through of the current projects being delivered by Climate Action Strathaven.
Find out why some projects succeed and some fail, and the valuable lessons we've learned from both!
Find out which projects deliver more carbon savings, and which bring better community engagement - and why we need both.
Learn about our journey (so far) towards becoming financially independent as a charity
- Description
Climate Action Strathaven has developed a suite of projects that have positive local benefits even without considering the climate angle
We aim to showcase why climate action doesn't need to be negative or represent sacrifice! In Strathaven we have established a number of projects that deliver emission reductions and are positive for the local community. From our 3C bus to Glasgow taking thousands of car journeys off the road every month, to retrofitting houses with insulation, e-bike hire, cycle repair shop, Community Fridge, Climate cafe, Re-fill shop, and more.
