Overall aim

To highlight the need, and benefit, of effective risk management including helpful advice on:

  • how to approach, measure, understand and implement good risk control across all of your operations.
  • knowing why there is a need to manage risks .
  • the range and type of resources available to you that will assist with your risk identification and control measures

The session will look at a selection of different risk management considerations from asset protection to operational risks that arise from those activities that you are regularly undertaking.

Description

Regulation is one part of the process of ensuring effective risk management controls are in place to best protect those involved. Your responsibilities remain an ongoing consideration. Throughout our daily lives we constantly navigate our way around hazards and dangers that present themselves in all that we do. From the simplest of tasks to those which would be considered high risk, there is a need to ensure that all activities undertaken are done so in the safest possible way. This session will raise awareness of the need to effect sound risk management controls, the methods of understanding your risks and give examples of where good outcomes are reflected in the positive delivery of a safe environment and also provide examples where weaknesses, no matter how apparent, could have been better assessed and managed.
