Description

Scotland can boast many examples of world-leading, responsive legislation. But we also suffer from a long-recognised problem in implementation. We can see this gap clearly in social care, where evidence of what works to improve lives and strengthen communities is consistently built into policy and legislation which then fails to be applied effectively. The result hinders collectively understood ambitions for social progress and perpetuates cynicism about involvement in our political process. Yet the answers are well-known within the social care sector, with compelling and persuasive evidence for improvement and innovation long championed by those in the workforce. Led by the Coalition of Care & Support Providers (CCPS) and featuring a panel representing academics, politicians and social care staff, this event will share examples of solutions and discuss how to break the cycle of implementation failure in social care.
