- Description
Te Scottish Government, THRE and the Poverty Alliance will host an interactive session on championing a human rights culture in the third sector. The session will spotlight innovative projects and proven good practice in human rights, showcasing how capability building is making a difference in the sector and how organisations can use this to help prepare for a future Human Rights Bill in Scotland.
The session will begin with a video message from the Minister for Equalities on the sector’s pivotal role in the realisation of human rights. The Scottish Government will give an update on work which is being taken forward to further the effect of human rights in Scotland. Attendees will then hear directly from THRE and the Poverty Alliance about their impactful projects on human rights capability building as funded through the Scottish Government’s Equality and Human Rights Fund. We’ll invite attendees to engage, share experiences and ask questions to shape a discussion on how a human rights-based approach can strengthen their organisation’s mission and delivery.
By showcasing the work of our partners and promoting best practice, we aim to support attendees to view human rights not only as a legal framework but as a practical tool that can enhance and strengthen the work they are already doing. We want attendees to consider how human rights can be meaningfully integrated into their organisations’ practice and how applying a human rights lens can positively shape their delivery and impact.
