  • Understand the landscape of funding constraints of the third sector through the eyes of people with learning disabilities
  • Consider how partnerships across the third sector and beyond can support this work
  • Reflect on your own experiences in this area
Description

The past twelve months have seen some of the most challenging times for our communities and the third sector organisations which support them.

Napier and FAIR have been working together to co-produce a film which shares the experience of some people with learning disabilities. The film was created in the months following cuts proposed by the Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board which affected 64 organisations across Edinburgh and touches on the risk this brings to people with and without learning disabilities, their families and carers, as well as the community more broadly. A sneak peek of the film will be shared during the workshop, ahead of its premiere in spring 2026.

Perhaps your organisation or community has been affected by the current funding landscape? We’d love to hear how it has impacted you.

During the workshop participants will be invited to share their experiences, and together we will consider how partnerships make our work stronger.

This workshop will be delivered by Edinburgh Napier University and FAIR. FAIR provides free information and advice for people with learning disabilities and carers in Edinburgh) and FAIR members.
