- Overall aim
This demonstration Health Walk will give delegates an opportunity to experience a Health Walk first hand and enjoy some fresh air and gentle exercise at lunchtime.
- Description
A 30 minute guided lunchtime walk. All welcome.
Walk leaders will take you on a short (30 min) low level accessible walk, which will allow you to feel the physical, mental and social benefits this can bring to your day and the communities that you serve, giving you the chance to develop knowledge and understanding of the benefits of this popular activity for yourself.
There are around 800 free Health Walks taking place every week across Scotland and we would like you to be able to experience the enjoyment of walking during the Gathering. There is a health walk on both days, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The walk will be led by trained Walk Leaders from Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland or Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust, as members of the Scottish Health Walks Network (SHWN), supported by Walking Scotland staff.
Assemble by Walking Scotland's exhibition space #15 in the Strathblane Hall at 12.30pm. (Please note there is an guided tour from Invisible Cities also assembling nearby, make sure you join the right walk.) We recommend you bring a coat and wear comfortable shoes and we will take care of the rest.
