Your Voice. Your Rights. Our Support.

At AdvoCard, we provide Independent Advocacy to help our advocacy partners speak up, make informed choices, and stay in control of decisions about their own life.

Our advocacy workers use a Human Rights Based Approach. That means we’ll provide clear, accessible information about people's rights and the options available to them — and support them to make their own choices. We’re not here to tell people what to do or make decisions on their behalf. We’re here to stand beside them and make sure their voice is heard.

In Edinburgh we provide independent advocacy to people who have a mental health condition and/or substance use issues.

Across Scotland our Family Advocacy Service provides independent advocacy for families bereaved by a death in prison custody in Scotland.

AdvoCard is a member of the Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance, and we deliver advocacy in accordance with the Independent Advocacy Principles, Standards and Code of Best Practice.
